2010 Fz6r Top Speed

whats your top speed because it has come to my attention that mine may be substantially lower than others are getting, im getting 127mph after that im getting nothing in 5th or 6th, just goes limp (im naked however so fairing may make a difference)

It was an overcast day in a land far, far away. The road was straight and the oldmobuick was crawling along. We proceeded to pass and as I overtook the oldsmobuick, I just kept on the throttle while in 4th gear I think, the speedometer indicated 120 mph. Figuring a 10% error, that was an actual speed of 108 mph and there was plenty more. This was while riding 2-up.
Legal Disclaimer: This did not happen. My client Mr Rennsport was just day dreaming. Had this actually happened, it would have occured just like my client said in the story above.

I have went according to my speedo on my 06' FZ6 154MPH that was in fifth

Yeah I find no big difference between 5th and 6th... usually hit about 225 km/h in 5th and then shift to 6th and she'll slowly climb towards 240. Fairings make a difference, as does the temperature. If you're trying it on a hot day you'll have a fair bit less power than a crisp evening.

If yours is really dying at 127mph, there is a problem. I dont think the fairing would make a 20something mph difference?
I have had mine to 160 indicated (on a large oval track) before my 15-48 sprocket change.

Pretty much out of steam at 155 indicated, so probably right around the 142 top speed as reported by several magazines. Might have been able to eek a few more mph out on a longer straight, but that left turn was coming up fast.
Aerodynamics plays a huge role at high speeds. Don't forget that wind resistance increases at a cubic rate. How was your body positioning?

yea, the coefficient of drag increases exponentially, so fairing would make a massive difference at those speeds..........anyone got a top speed on a naked version?

Indicated 144mph or 232kph. Seems to run out of steam about there.

Someone told me they saw the speedo on my naked FZ6 read 255 Km/h...

The FZ6 is the bestest bike ever made. It makes this really cool ticking sound that soothes my soul. It's the most exciting bike I've ever ridden and I can't imagine ever getting bored with it. I'm soooo happy with my motorcycle purchase I could just burst!

I got 148 mph on the speedo, 135 mph on gps
